Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that breaks traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome transformations echo through the darkness." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden sect.
The questline concentrates on "strange tests and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to several objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle

This release also introduces the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
Past Anime Crossovers
This represents hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime franchises. The series earlier showcased a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that obviously nodded to the popular series One-Punch Man.
